Bio

Although he has practiced law in Kansas since 1977, Ron Rose is a native of Pennsylvania who never lost his love for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Ron began his legal career in Washington, D.C. as an attorney at the Chief Counsel’s Office of the Internal Revenue Service.  Since coming to Kansas, Ron has represented clients in the areas of tax law, business law, estate planning, commercial real estate, and in health law compliance and contract matters.

Tax Law

Ron earned an LLM in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in 1975.  He regularly represents clients before the IRS and the Kansas Department of Revenue.  Ron is recognized as an authority in all areas of taxation, including compliance issues, income tax matters, sales tax issues, and taxation planning for both businesses and individuals.

Business Law

Ron’s business law practice includes those matters integral to business formation, mergers and acquisitions, sales, franchising, and succession planning.  He assists clients, at the very inception of their professional endeavors, in determining the appropriate choice of business entity.  Ron’s extensive history with mergers and acquisitions allows him to offer wise counsel and to employ practical methods that serve his clients’ needs when they are contemplating merging with another entity or acquiring/being acquired by one.  Similarly, Ron understands the legal and practical concerns involved in selling a business entity, franchising it, or planning for the succession of a closely-held business. 

Estate Planning

Ron has also assisted many individual clients with their estate planning and asset protection needs over the years.  He has substantial experience drafting wills and trusts and in dealing with probate matters.  Likewise, he is well versed in Medicaid planning issues.

Commercial Real Estate

Ron represents clients with respect to all types of commercial real estate transactions. He guides clients through issues involving sale, purchase, land development, and land use.

Health Law

Numerous individual physicians and physicians groups have sought out Ron’s guidance on business, compliance, and regulatory matters involving the health care field.  Ron has successfully negotiated and drafted employment contracts for individual physicians and physician groups.  He is knowledgeable concerning federal regulatory matters, including the Stark and anti-kickback statutes, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
