An avid sports competitor and fan, it’s no surprise that the first time Martin Pringle Attorney, Matthew Heili, considered law school was during a sports management class while an undergrad at the University of Missouri. Specifically, he found the profound impact of laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act on sporting events (for both athletes and sporting event attendees) intriguing. He credits the professor of that class, who had gone to law school, with his decision to pursue a J.D. degree. After graduation, Matthew, a native of Weston, Missouri, headed from Columbia to Kansas City to pursue his legal education. While in law school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, Matthew spent two summers as a law clerk at Martin Pringle, exploring all areas of the firm’s practice. He focuses his practice on civil & commercial litigation including employment law, business law, medical malpractice defense and condemnation law. When Matthew is not working, he also enjoys road trips, hiking and exploring state and national parks.
