Bio

Bill Mallory has a broad background in general civil practice, with an emphasis on business litigation, insurance defense, mediation and family law. Bill pursues his legal practice with equal parts skill, experience, and enthusiasm. For more than thirty years in Missouri and over twenty years in Kansas, he has successfully litigated matters before juries, trial courts, and appellate courts, in State and Federal court. Bill is also an avid musician, performing lead guitar, lead vocals, and keyboards for Rock of the Aged, a classic-rock cover band. Bill has been an integral part of his church’s music ministry for over twenty years, including prison ministry concerts at the correctional facilities in Lansing and Leavenworth, Kansas.

Complex Business Litigation

Bill is an accomplished commercial litigator with experience in contract cases, stockholder disputes, construction litigation matters, and a broad range of professional negligence cases. He has also successfully represented clients in administrative proceedings and in mediations and arbitrations, in state and federal courts in Kansas and Missouri. Bill has also served pro hac vice in Nebraska, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and other jurisdictions. Bill has a well-earned reputation for vigorous and effective advocacy, grounded in a thorough grasp of commercial law and steadfast attention to the practical realities of business disputes.

Insurance Defense

Bill has tried hundreds of cases, including over twenty jury trials, many of which involve complex legal and scientific issues. He has a successful track record in litigating claims involving both personal and commercial lines of liability insurance, including transportation litigation, homeowners and premises liability, and products liability. He is experienced in litigating and advising insurance clients on insurance coverage issues.

Mediation of Commercial Cases

A significant portion of Bill’s legal practice is mediating contract disputes and other commercial cases. He has completed training through the Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution at the University of Missouri School of Law, and is listed as an approved mediator by the Missouri Bar and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Family Law

Family law matters entail a broad range of legal issues, including child custody arrangements, spousal support and maintenance, property settlements, and modifications. Bill has more than thirty years’ experience handling complex divorce cases. He is a skillful advocate in the courtroom. Perhaps more importantly, his thoughtful advice and counsel is highly valuable in helping clients smoothly navigate the difficult course of domestic relations matters.
